Helmets must be worn on all rides and must meet Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), ASTM, or Snell standards.
Verbal communication is important for safe group riding so Ipods and Blue Tooths are highly discouraged.
Use of eyeglasses and gloves are encouraged.
Riders under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
We are ready to put in an order for new club jerseys. Please submit your orders so we can determine how many to order. We have tried to make them more visible for rider safety.

Part of the MSWBC's mission is to promote cycling as recreation, sport, and transportation. We have added Advocacy pages to highlight some to the programs and projects in the Wheelers have promoted, sponsored and/or participated in recent years. For just $15 for an individual membership or $18 for a family membership, you too can become a year long member of the Mountain State Wheelers Bicycle Club. A printable version of the membership application is available online. As a member you'll receive a monthly issue of our Newsletter"Spoke Notes", get added to our e-mail group, plus become part of the most active group of riders in West Virginia. You'll receive information on weekday rides, regular weekend road or mountain bike excursions, camping weekends, and touring events. Persons who join after Oct. 31st, are credited for the next calendar year. For additional information about the club, visit the Membership page.

The club has limited funds to available for the promotion of cycling in the Charleston, West Virginia area. Applications must be received by March 15th and September 16th and will we reviewed and voted on by the membership at the Sping and Fall meetings. It is anticipated that the applications would be for less than $1,000. Click here for the the full application process.
The club will again try to save as many turtles as possible from being run over on our highways. PbP Pottery will be offering turtle mugs to the first 25 club members who save one or more turtles this season.
