2008 Tour of West Virginia
                                          June 21st-23rd

This year the Tour will be returning to The Hermitage, in beautiful Bartow,WV. We will start and finish in Lewisburg at the YMCA. Join us as we ride through the mountains and valleys of Greenbrier, Pocahontas, and Grant Counties. If you've never experienced the Tour, talk to any club member that has, and you'll be sure to attend this years addition. The Hermitage was purchased by the same people that run the Highland Inn in Monterey, VA. Get this. The restaurant is serving a full menu from 7:00AM til 8:00PM. Sorry, they don't serve hard boiled eggs, so you'll have to bring your own.
This is a tour. Saturday and Monday will both be approximately 80-85 mi. Sunday will have options from 40 to 100 mi. The bar has been set, and most of the club members will be able to do this ride with adequate training. If you think you may be interested in this years ride, let me know ASAP. I need to reserve a block of rooms. Doubles are $69.00.

Tour cost, which includes SAG, lunch(Sunday and Monday), and showers at the Y will be $40.00 for the 3 days or $15.00 per day. Registration forms will be available at Charleston Bicycle Center soon.

It's set and ready to go! I've finally gotten confirmation from the Hermitage Motel in Bartow, and here's what you need to do. Call 1-888-456-4808. Make a reservation for Saturday (6/21) and Sunday (6/22) nights under the Tour of WV. The rate is $69.00 for non-smoking double, $64.00 for a single. Did I mention that they now serve breakfast. Start getting your legs in shape. While this is an unbelievably scenic ride, it is also very demanding. While most any of the club members are capable of completing this ride, it's by far more enjoyable to ride it in good shape. You will also need to fill out a registration form (which will be available in a couple of weeks), and return it with your check for $40.00. And lastly, you'll need to show up in Lewisburg ready to ride on Saturday, June 21st.

That's all there is to it. Now, what's the $40.00 for? Our two lovely SAG's will transport your (1) bag to and from the Hermitage. They will also provide expert, on the route, support. Ron, that means you'll have to watch the arrows on the road, and stay on route, if you want SAG support. Lunch will be your responsibility Saturday, as we make our favorite stop at Meck's Amish Bakery. Both Sunday and Monday you will be provided with a deluxe roadside lunch. I am checking into getting T-shirts made this year. It's not certain, but close. They will go to everyone signing up by May 1st. No exceptions. I'll need to order them by May 2nd. This is also dependent upon having at least 25 people signed up. Anyone wanting to ride less than the 3 days, will pay at a rate of $15.00 per day, and no T-shirt will be provided. Check future emails for updates, routes, and kicks in the butt to get you on your bike.

It's Spring for Heaven's sake, get out and ride!
